There are so many beautiful moments at a wedding. The groom seeing his bride for the very first time, a newlywed couples first kiss, their first dance, the moment a couple realizes they are no longer bride and groom but husband and wife. It can be hard to choose just one moment to talk about. After Kristel and Troy’s wedding it wasn’t difficult. Surrounded beautiful white and blush florals in the Dena’ina Center’s Tikahtnu ballroom draped in white linens and bursting with love, what stood out to me the most? The way they thanked each other.
Person after person stood in front of the newlyweds and thanked them for simply being themselves. What speaks volume to the beauty of their relationship? That their parents each individually thanked the newest addition to the family for being everything they ever hoped for. Kristel’s parents thanked Troy for providing for their daughter, supporting her, and being a wonderful father to their grandchildren. Troy’s parents thanked Kristel for being proud of their son, and being a partner to their most prized possession, and for being the best mother to their grandbabies.
Kristel and Troy, your love for each other is undeniable and it is backed by the unending support of your friends and family. That is special. You two have already navigated so much life together and you’re just getting started. I’ve only known you for a short time but your joyfulness, your thoughtfulness, and your happiness is obvious. Your marriage will be no different because you love each other first. Congratulations Kristel & Troy!!
