My umbrellas packed, my boots secured, coat fastened, I trudged out through pouring rain for Grace and Mike’s Wedding day. It had been raining for weeks. At the rehearsal, they decided to move the ceremony under the beautiful pavilion at Gloryview Farms in Wasilla. Just as I started to unpack, the rain began to lighten. By the time Grace was zipping up her dress it had stopped completely. Then, just as she took her finals steps toward her groom, then sun broke through. The light illuminated her causing even the tiniest of crystals on her gown to gleam. She dazzled. Everything fell into place for this moment. This is it.
Mike and Grace met in high school and it was love at first sight.. for Mike. To put it kindly – Grace was not interested. With a little persistence, a little patience, and a whole lot of charm, Mike was able to sweep Grace off her feet and the rest, as they say, is history. 6 years in the making Grace and Mike said I do in front of all of their loved ones and they close the chapter of boyfriend and girlfriend and they move into the role of husband and wife.
Grace and Mikey, Thank you so much for giving my a glimpse into your love story and trusting me to capture a once in a lifetime moment for you. It was such a pleasure to get to know you and your families and celebrate with you. To start out as high school sweethearts means that you have grown up together. You’ve had front row seats to each others best and probably some of your worst moments and you have loved each other through every single moment. Continue to love each other and growing together and you’ll find that the best is yet to come.
